摘要: We discuss two modifications to the design of wireless infrared links that can yield significant performance improvements, albeit at price increased complexity. In line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight links, replacement a single-element receiver by one employing an imaging light concentrator segmented photodetector reduce received ambient noise multipath distortion. For fixed entrance area, such transmit power requirements as much about 14 dB, depending on link number segments. Imaging receivers also co-channel interference, may therefore enable networks employ space-division multiplexing, wherein several transmitters located in close proximity simultaneously same wavelength. nondirected diffuse transmitter projects multiple narrow beams path loss, further reducing requirement decibels. describe experimental 100 Mb/s multibeam 37-pixel receiver.
