摘要: Abstract The distribution of tooth pulp-evoked potentials (TPEPs) was characterized in the primary motor (MI), somatosensory (SI) and secondary (SII) cortices monkey. Bipolar electrical pulp stimulation elicited TPEP components P23 N44 over SI, P26 N72 MI P72, N161, P280, N420, P561 N662 SII. Muscular artifacts extradental input did not affect as demonstrated by experiments using a neuromuscular blocking agent removal pulp, respectively. short latency TPEPs recorded SI were evoked low stimulus intensities activation Aβ nerve fibers, whereas long SII required higher additional recruitment Aδ fibers. Intracortical recordings revealed polarity reversals area 3b, 4 upper bank lateral sulcus (SII). Evidence presented this study suggests that from relate to non-nociceptive mechanisms while nociceptive mechanisms.
