摘要: Background: Survivin (a member of the inhibitors apoptosis family) is important for fetal development, placental survival and differentiation. Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) macrosomia, due to maternal diabetes mellitus (DM) are associated with excessive decreased feto-placental apoptosis, respectively. The aim was study survivin concentrations in cord blood at term IUGR, large-for-gestational-age (LGA, gestational DM) appropriate-for-gestational-age (AGA) pregnancies. Patients Methods: were determined 160 mixed arterio-venous samples from IUGR (n=48), LGA (n=11) AGA (n=101) singleton full-term infants. Results: No significant differences observed between groups. effect birthweight, customized centile, age, gender, delivery mode parity on not significant. Conclusion: independent intrauterine growth, mode. Thus, they probably do reflect disturbances expected macrosomia DM. Apoptosis (programmed cell death) regulates proliferation contributes tissue organ homeostasis during development differentiation (1). Furthermore, normal human placenta (2). Disturbances seem be abnormal pregnancy outcome, including (3) (4, 5). In this respect, cells has been reported DM (3). On other hand, an increased incidence IUGR- affected membranes documented (4-7). Elucidation molecular mechanisms involved control IUGR-affected may provide further insights into etiology (5). Relatively, placentas correlated expression proteins turnover (8, 9). However, levels markers have nοt literature, while extremely limited data exist regarding (10, 11). (apoptosis inhibitor 4; API 4), a 16.5 kDa protein recently described as (IAP) family (12), exerts its action by inhibiting apoptotic pathway involving caspases (13). Survivin, prominently expressed tissues overexpressed cancer (14), (15). It also postulated play critical roles cytotrophoblast (16). Nevertheless, perinatal cellular or extracellular yet investigated (LGA) This based hypothesis that umbilical (due cases differ respective controls, since former (4-7) reduced supported recent demonstrating phenotype peripheral leukocytes arthritis (17). Therefore, report aims evaluate compare pregnancies correlate them common demographic parameters studied
