摘要: Emerging evidence indicates that carotenoids may have particular roles in infant nutrition and development, yet data on the profile bioavailability of from human milk remain sparse. Milk was longitudinally collected at 2, 4, 13, 26 weeks postpartum twenty mothers each China, Mexico, USA Global Exploration Human Study (n = 60 donors, n 240 samples). Maternal neonatal plasma analyzed for cohort 4 postpartum. Carotenoids were by HPLC total lipids Creamatocrit. Across all countries lactation stages, top four lutein (median 114.4 nmol/L), β-carotene (49.4 β-cryptoxanthin (33.8 lycopene (33.7 nmol/L). Non-provitamin A (nmol/L) (g/L) decreased (p 0.05) with stage. Total carotenoid content greatest lowest China 0.3). This enhanced understanding exposure to during development help guide dietary recommendations design mimetics.
