摘要: We previously demonstrated that evening primrose extract (EPE) induced apoptosis in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells (EATC), and this effect was specific on cells. Furthermore, our results EPE exposure elicited a rapid increase the activity of superoxide dismutase intracellular peroxides levels. These changes caused translocation Bax to mitochondria subsequent release mitochondrial cytochrome c. However, no activation caspase-3 observed EPE-treated EATC. On other hand, apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) translocated from nuclei. The EPE-induced AIF suppressed with addition catalase, suggesting peroxide levels after triggers off induction apoptosis, which is AIF-mediated caspase-independent. In study, we have shown dose-dependent accumulation G1 phase inhibited DNA synthesis. Our also cell cycle arrest inhibition proliferation EATC by are associated decreased Rb phosphorylation. inhibitions phosphorylation synthesis were not catalase. present study suggests peroxides, trigger cycle.
