摘要: A study of the data on 1,318 consecutive non-cemented total hip-replacement arthroplasties revealed thirty-nine intraoperative fractures femur (3 per cent), only half which were diagnosed intraoperatively. The occurred in proximal region or at tip stem prosthesis. Most incomplete and minimally displaced, they did not jeopardize stability femoral component. All complete stabilized with a four-fifths-coated fully coated prosthesis to provide distal fixation, and, when intraoperatively, fixed cerclage wiring. When an fracture near was discovered postoperatively posterior part cortex intact, spica cast applied, patient instructed protected weight-bearing. For stem, we recommend open reduction internal fixation. No statistical difference found respect residual pain, score for walking, implant compared results patients who had those not. Modifications surgical technique resulted decrease incidence (p less than 0.05).
