摘要: A finite‐element method has been applied to the analysis of magnetohydrodynamic instabilities in a cylindrical current‐carrying plasma embedded strong longitudinal magnetic field. To examine applicability stability analysis, growth rate calculated numerically using an electronic computer. It shown that numerical results, for which corresponding analytical results are available, good agreement with them. Several examples low‐m mode various current distributions demonstrated. is concluded powerful tool study as well as, possibly, plasmas more complex geometries.
