Comparison of observed and modelled hailstone spectra during a severe storm over the Northern Pyrenean foothills

摘要: Periodically, the south of France is touched by hail falls causing much damage to agricultural community. The present work discusses a numerical simulation precipitating convective system in region southern using three-dimensional, non-hydrostatic cloud physics model coupled spectral microphysics module. A 29 April 1999 hailstorm over Pyrenees mountains on border Spain was performed. This study tests ability current state-of-the-art reproduce such severe hailstorms. Generally, storm dimensions and structure, documented radar, surface distributions pads were reasonably well reproduced.
