摘要: The interplay with bacteria is of crucial importance for the interaction multicellular organisms their environments. Studying associations between nematode model Caenorhabditis elegans and Pristionchus pacificus constitutes a powerful system to investigate these interactions at mechanistic level. P. found in association scarab beetles nature recent studies revealed succession dynamics this its microbiome during decomposition one particular host species, rhinoceros beetle Oryctes borbonicus on La Reunion Island. However, were performed using culture-free methods, no attempt made establish bacterial cultures from beetle-nematode ecosystem effects microbes life history traits pacificus. Here, we characterize collection 136 strains that have been isolated figs, another Pristionchus-associated environment, as resource studying effect various traits. Classification based 16S sequencing identified members four phyla class Gammaproteobacteria representing majority 81 strains. Assessing survival individual allowed us propose candidate groups pathogens such Bacillaceae, Actinobacteria, Serratia. In combination chemoattraction data, it was able recognize avoid certain pathogens, but not others. Our forms natural study diet development other Furthermore, results will form basis future elucidate molecular mechanisms recognition pathogenicity.
