Effects of forest characteristics on the abundance of alectorioid lichens in northern Finland

摘要: Quantitative knowledge of the abundance epiphytic alectorioid lichens (Bryoria spp., Alectoria and Usnea spp.) is important when evaluating carrying capacity winter pastures semidomesticated reindeer (Rangifer tarandus (L., 1758)) woodland caribou (Gmelin, 1788)). This study, including a total 234 sample plots, presents data on biomass in mature forests for most common forest site types national parks Oulanka, Pallas-Ounastunturi, Lemmenjoki northern Finland relates them to stand characteristics. The trees was estimated using clump method which existing clumps lichen thalli branches are compared with known dry mass.
