摘要: The motion of the ethanolamine head group in unsonicated lipid bilayers above and below phase transition is studied by means deuterium phosphorus magnetic resonance. For this purpose, dipalmitoyl-3-sn-phosphatidylethanolamine selectively deuterated at two carbon atoms. quadrupole splittings corresponding bilayer phases are measured pH 5.5 as a function temperature. In addition, phosphorus-31 chemical shift anisotropies planor-oriented randomly dispersed samples 11 applying proton-decoupling field. knowledge static tensor (Kohler, S.J., Klein, M.P. (1976), Biochemistry 15, 967) provides basis for quantitive analysis head-group motion. nuclear resonance data consistent with model which rotating flat on surface rapid transitions occurring between enantiomeric conformations.
