摘要: A total of 101 P. falciparum positive patients were enrolled from urban population Kolkata, India to determine the therapeutic efficacy chloroquine as per 28 days follow-up schedule WHO, 2003. All parasite strains analyzed for resistance transporter (pfcrt) haplotypes using DNA sequencing methodology. The PCR corrected resistant was very high (76.3%, 95% CI 0.642 – 0.832) which early treatment failure (10%), and late (66.3%). K76T mutation found in all irrespective outcomes. Both Venezuelan (SVMNT) Southeast Asian (CVIET) prevalent study with predominance South East haplotype (87.1%). present showed that incidence CQ malaria Kolkata well above WHO recommended cut-off level change drug policy. Recently introduced Artimisinine Combination Therapy by Government treat cases is an appropriate step.
