摘要: Low energy electron‐induced fluorescence at 77 °K under conditions of improved signal‐to‐noise ratio and wavelength resolution is reported, which exhibits differences with respect to high radiolysis previous published work. Three distinct visible emissions are now evident, corresponding the ∼380 nm emission in bulk irradiated samples, each assigned electron–ion recombination. An intensity increase following deuterium substitution attributed predissociation involving states active known 124 diffuse ultraviolet absorption bands H2O. Ultraviolet 306 hydroxyl (?2Σ+→?2Π) system, while confirmed by substitution, this observation disagreement low results report on substantial blue shift for spectral feature ∼280 nm. Finally, alternative radiative schemes proposed attempt reconcile conflicting data from diverse experimental methods.
