摘要: This review describes the main natural extreme environments, characterized by high temperature, and low pH salinity, that can be colonized microorganisms. The environments covered are: freshwater alkaline hot springs; acidic solfatara fields; anaerobic geothermal mud soils; sulphur pyrite areas; carbonate springs soil; soda highly saline lakes. community structure, in terms of available energy sources representative autotrophic heterotrophic microorganisms, is discussed for each type habitat.
