摘要: The present experiments provide the first evidence that congenic strains of rats, which differ only in MHC, produce discriminably different urinary chemosignals. Urine from adult male PVG and PVG.R1 A region (class 1) was used a habituation-dishabituation task, with PVG-RT1u, Wistar albino, Lister hooded rats as subjects. males easily distinguished by all three strains. Individual were not their urine odours, but individual appeared to have odours. repetition this experiment indicated discrimination may been due impurities urine. Odours serum sufficient for between two strains, nor class 1 molecule purified removed (remainder fraction) could, however, be distinguish chemicals give distinctive odour fragments or small molecules associated molecule. MHC appears control cues are mammals recognition an olfactory basis kin mechanism controls these signals is unknown.
