摘要: Objective To examine the current evidence for executive function (EF) performance differences between groups with Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and non-diabetic control during adolescence early adulthood, to explore relationships EF diabetes-related risk factors. Methods A systematic review of literature examining in T1DM was conducted according PRISMA guidelines. Electronic database searches published unpublished yielded a final set 26 articles after application inclusion exclusion criteria. meta-analysis on subset these (n = 17) comparing groups, across total sample size 1619. Results Sixteen studies found significantly lower at least one task T1DM. Meta-analyses difference without showed that inhibition (g -0.28, p < .001), working memory -0.34, set-shifting -0.31, .012), overall domains -0.42, .001) were all Performance specific also appeared be differentially associated age onset, chronic hyperglycemia its complications, severe hypoglycemia. Conclusions factors are related subtle impairments inhibition, memory, EF. Lower may key factor contributing behavioral clinical problems experienced by individuals
