摘要: In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to the effects of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) on cognitive functions. T1D onset usually occurs during childhood, so it is possible that brain could be affected neurodevelopment. We selected young patients normal intelligence with neurodevelopment, no complications from diabetes, and adequate glycemic control. The purpose this study was compare neural BOLD activation pattern in a group versus healthy control subjects while performing visuospatial working memory task. Sixteen 16 matched participated. There significant statistical difference behavioral performance between groups, but, accordance our hypothesis, results showed distinct patterns. Control presented expected activations related task, whereas had greater prefrontal inferior cortex, basal ganglia, posterior cerebellum, substantia nigra. These different patterns due compensation mechanisms allow them maintain similar subjects.
