摘要: Abstract Pre- as well post-exposure prophylaxis plays an important role in controlling the number of deaths associated with human rabies. Rabies vaccines, classically injected intramuscularly, are now also administered by intradermal (ID) route. Vaccines to be ID route should meet same quality, safety and efficacy specifications vaccines for intramuscular (IM) use. The aim this paper is provide information based on publicly available data regarding use rabies identify potential needs further analysis potency, immunogenicity effectiveness A first literature search, focused given route, identified 338 publications period 1997–2018, 40 which were included our analyses. second search investigating vaccination resulted 371 hits 2007–2018, 13 suitable retained. current was analyzed 3 ways: proportion subjects reaching antibody threshold 0.5 IU/ml after vaccination, relationship between potency vaccine intradermally, comparison responses IM or vaccination. Overall, intradermally found immunogenic. Post-exposure appeared at least immunogenic regimens. By contrast, pre-exposure trended towards lower titers than but observation not any clinical relevance. Vaccine assessed survival exposure. Data from more 30,000 patients who sought did indicate that lack efficacy. These results support recommendations against However, published performance significant weaknesses future research better address.
