Assessment of an intervention to train teaching hospital care providers in quality management

摘要: Background: Successful implementation of continuous quality improvement (CQI) programs in hospitals remains rare all countries, making it necessary to experiment with methods while considering the cultural factors resistance change. Objective: To assess impact an educational intervention on involvement clinical department staff process. Setting: Twelve voluntary departments (six experimental and six controls) a French 2000-bed university hospital comprising 40 departments. Intervention: Three day training seminar group 12–20 members from each department. Design: Quasi-experimental post-test only design study control conducted 12 months after questionnaire completed face-to-face interview. Subjects: 98 trained 100 untrained Principal measurements: Declared knowledge CQI participation management activities. Results: 286 people (96%) were involved study. More knew (62.4%) than (16.5%) (adjusted odds ratio (ORa) = 10.6 (95% CI 4.97 22.62)). also participated work groups (76.3% v 14.0%; ORa 27.4 11.6 64.4)). In staff's their did not differ that staff. Conclusions: A continuing education can involve care providers CQI. Dissemination personnel other limited.
