摘要: QUANTIFYING CHLOROPHYLL A CONTENT THROUGH REMOTE SENSING: PILOT STUDY OF UTAH LAKE Tiana Davis Secor Department of Geography Master Science Utah Lake is a really large but shallow lake located in the arid environment Western United States. Due to variety factors it listed by Environmental Protection Agency as an "impaired water body” and must be closely monitored. Because its extent depth quality heterogeneous can change rapidly. This means that traditional monitoring methods, which require investments field personnel, equipment, sample analysis, cannot produce model truly representative entire body. thesis examines feasibility using remotely sensed imagery develop system for accurate, repeatable cost-effective. paucity situ information, this primarily pilot study Landsat satellite collected within 5-day window existing samples measuring chlorophyll a. The brightness values were regressed against accurately predict concentrations across lake. results conclude could very useful tool if sufficient data calibration available.
