摘要: Objective To discuss the diagnosis of osteoarthritis and efficacy available pharmacologic nonpharmacologic treatment options. Data Sources Published reports on were identified through a MEDLINE search English-language journal articles using focused title for keywords acetaminophen, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, COX-2 nonsteroidal, opioids, capsaicin, tramadol, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid by reviewing bibliographies selected reviews. The American College Rheumatology (ACR) guidelines, as updated in September 2000, hip knee analyzed with appropriate references to clinical scientific studies, review articles, other published guidelines. Synthesis Each patient's medical history level pain should decide most treatment. Nonpharmacologic therapies always be included regimen. If further management is required, treatments are acetaminophen or anti-inflammatory drugs mild-to-moderate pain, tramadol opioid combinations moderate-to-moderately severe opioids pain. Adjunctive treatments, intraarticular injections, surgery also viable options some patients. Conclusion used properly, ACR guidelines important tools care patient this disease.
