Characteristics of premenstrual acne flare-up and benefits of a dermocosmetic treatment: a double-blind randomised trial

摘要: To date, facial acne flare-ups in adult women during the luteal phase of menstrual cycle have been poorly investigated. clinically characterize premenstrual flare-up and investigate effect a dermocosmetic treatment. This single-centre study included 32 young with declared flares was composed two phases: (1) an observational (two cycles) (2) interventional (one cycle) controlled, randomised, double-blind, intra-individual (half-face) setting which (containing lipohydroxyacid, nicotinamide, piroctone-olamine) placebo were compared. Initially, first part study, we observed that characterized by significant increase number papules (20.2 vs. 13.7; p = 0.0008) to lesser extent, closed comedones (25.6 22.7; 0.04). Secondly, phase, half-face treated formulation showed significantly lower inflammatory lesions (7.6 vs 9.4; 0.01) compared placebo. Tolerance rated as good or excellent. Our data indicate use may be benefit partially reducing this flare-up.
