摘要: Abstract Objective The mechanisms of the ketogenic diet remain unclear, but several predictors response have been proposed. We aimed is to study relationship between etiology epilepsy, cerebrospinal fluid neurotransmitters, pterins, and amino acids, a diet. Methods studied 60 patients who began classic treatment for refractory epilepsy. In 24 individuals, we analyzed acids in baseline conditions. Mean age at epilepsy onset was 24 months, 83.3% were focal epilepsies, 51.7% unknown. Results Six months after initiating diet, it effective (greater than 50% reduction seizure frequency) 31.6% patients. did not find link rate efficacy etiologies nor pterins biogenic amines concentrations. However, found statistically significant differences lysine arginine values responders nonresponders, other analyzed. Significance some significantly different with efficacy; however, amine pterin not.
