摘要: Monolithic nanoscopic tunnel junctions fabricated by atomic layer deposition are used to investigate the reversible adsorption and detection of a vapor phase molecule inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy. Molecular acetic acid at room temperature is enhanced direct current electric field between electrodes attract trap molecules. Step-like features in versus time plots observed assigned discrete events. Inelastic spectra recorded cryogenic temperatures match signatures vibrational modes indicate that molecules generally physisorbed junction. Annealing above desorbs from junction, removal molecular verified spectra. Molecules readsorbed same temperature, which demonstrates adsorption.
