摘要: The emergence of novel pathogens poses a major public health threat causing widespread epidemics in susceptible populations. Escherichia coli O104:H4 strain implicated 2011 outbreak northern Germany caused the highest frequency hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and death ever recorded single E. outbreak. Therefore, it has been suggested that this is more virulent than other pathogenic (e.g., O157:H7). possesses multiple virulence factors from both Shiga toxin (Stx)-producing (STEC) enteroaggregative (EAEC), though mechanism pathogenesis not known. Here, we demonstrate produces stable biofilm vitro vivo gene expression when overexpresses genes required for aggregation exopolysaccharide production, characteristic bacterial cells residing within an established biofilm. Interrupting production formation may therefore represent effective strategies combating future infections.
