摘要: BACKGROUND Primary adenocarcinoma of the small bowel is a rare neoplasm, and to authors' knowledge, few studies date have addressed topic. METHODS In current study, records 217 patients with were reviewed retrospectively for presentation, prognostic factors, treatment modalities, outcome. RESULTS The median age was 55 years there 133 (61%) males. Tumors originated in duodenum 113 (52%) patients, jejunum 54 (25%) ileum 28 (13%) nonspecified sites 22 (10%) patients. Patients proximal tumors diagnosed most part using endoscopy (i.e., 46 108 [43%]), whereas laparotomy enabled diagnosis 16 (57%) distal tumors. Based on TNM staging, 9 (4%) had Stage I disease, 43 (20%) II 86 (39%) III 75 (35%) IV disease.
