摘要: A preliminary insight into how structural adjustment policies (SAPs) may have affected deforestation and forest degradation in the lowland tropical forests of Bolivia, Cameroon Indonesia. It presents tentative hypotheses regarding changes prices, costs, incomes government services associated with SAPs affect forests. The indirect effects SAP's on resulting from overall economic growth, inflation rates, employment consumption are difficult to measure predict. experience Indonesia indicate that sucees creating new off-farm opportunities probably reduce deforestation, while those do not succeed opposite effect, but this is still inconclusive. There little evidence spending restrictions diminished governments' ability promote sustainable management or control largerly because there was minimal capacity first place. remains be seen whether will favour hinder development such future.
