摘要: Thyroid hormones (TH) are essential for normal development and function of mammalian central nervous system (CNS); TH dysregulation has been implicated in several cognitive behavioral deficits related to dysfunctions neurotransmitter systems. In the present study, we investigated effects adult onset hypothyroidism on activity acetylcholinesterase (AChE) parameters. For this purpose used male Balb/cJ mice that were divided randomly into euthyroid hypothyroid animal groups. Animals rendered through administration 1% w/v KClO4 their drinking water 8weeks. At end treatment, learning/memory procedures examined step-through passive avoidance task while fear/anxiety was assessed using elevated plus-maze (EPM) open-field (OF) tests. AChE determined colorimetrically two different fractions, salt-soluble fraction (SS) (containing mainly G1 isoform) detergent-soluble (DS) G4 cerebral cortex, cerebellum, midbrain, hippocampus striatum. Our results indicate caused significant memory impairment increased fear/anxiety. Moreover, both isoforms reduced all brain regions a region- isoform-specific manner.
