摘要: Across sectional study to determine the occurrence and antimicrobial resistance pattern of Salmonella spp. in finishing pigs was carried out at 12 selected pig farms. The farm characteristics certain management practices associated with spp. were also evaluated. Rectal swabs were collected aseptically from 210 randomly pigs. Suspect colonies isolated identified using a set conventional biochemical tests these isolates sent Veterinary Research Institute (VRI) for serotyping. The sensitivity test conducted on isolates against a panel selected antimicrobials that are commonly used local production using disc diffusion method. In addition, questionnaire management farms, herd health programme, and common usage was collected representative, resulting variables could be analyzed identify factors associated with Salmonella. The results showed 32 finishing pigs (15.2%)tested positive typhimurium and detected 9 farms sampled (75.0%).Most relatively high level resistance. of Salmonella significantly (1) which not equipped footbath or vehicle wheels dip; (2) vermins/birds surrounding; (3) less frequent pen cleaning (4) located adjacent neighbouring farms.
