The electrochemical reaction of Li with VSe2 and implications on the ionicity of intercalation compounds

摘要: Detailed electrochemical studies of the system LixVSe2 with 0< x < 2 reveal at least three distinct intercalated phases that involve both lithium ordering in van der Waals gap VSe2 and collective responses VSe2, host layers. The lattice distorts anomalously large c/a ratio parameters collapses to a value typical other dichalcogenide intercalation compounds. A new phase, Li14VSe2, having V5Se8 structure is reported for first time. Irreversible behavior discharge Li/VSe2 attributed electrochemistry on impurity elemental selenium sulfur clearly show existence polychalcogenides lithium, LinXn. structural changes Li are used model compounds consistent ionic occur various hosts developed.
