摘要: The Fermi-Teller Z-law suggests that when mu /sup -/ mesons are brought to rest in a compound, the atomic capture probability C for an element of charge Z and N atoms/cm/sup 3/ should be proportional NZ. In experiment with PbF/ sub 2/ using Liverpool synchrocyclotron, value 4.8 plus or minus 0.7 was obtained ratio C/sub pb//C/sub F/. Z- law predicts 4.5; if varied according concentration, 0.5 would expected. (T.R.H.)
