摘要: Cancer is the leading cause of death in dogs, part because many cases are identified at an advanced stage when clinical signs have developed, and prognosis poor. Increased understanding cancer as a disease genome has led to introduction liquid biopsy testing, allowing for detection genomic alterations cell-free DNA fragments blood facilitate earlier detection, characterization, management through non-invasive means. Recent discoveries areas genomics oncology provided deeper molecular origins evolution cancer, "one health" similarities between humans dogs that underlie field comparative oncology. These discoveries, combined with technological advances profiling, shifting paradigm diagnosis toward goal improving outcomes. Liquid testing already revolutionized way managed human medicine - it poised make similar impact veterinary medicine. Multiple use emerging, including screening, aid diagnosis, targeted treatment selection, response monitoring, minimal residual recurrence monitoring. This review article highlights key scientific their relevance oncology, providing foundational this important topic veterinarians. As these technologies migrate from into medicine, improved awareness will rapid adoption, benefit patients.
