摘要: Various parts of Datura innoxia were examined for potential antibacterial activity by preparing their crude aqueous and organic extracts against Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli Salmonella typhi) Gram-positive (Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis Staphylococcus aureus). The results agar well diffusion assay indicated that the pattern inhibition depends largely upon plant part, solvent used extraction organism tested. Extracts prepared from leaves shown to have better efficacy than stem root extracts. Organic provided potent as compared Among all extracts, methanolic extract was found most active almost bacterial species sensitive bacteria. aureus signifi cantly inhibited even at very low MIC followed other Gram-positives. For Escherichia (a bacterium), end point not reached ethyl acetate while it high study promises an interesting future designing a potentially agent innoxia.
