摘要: A synthetic peptide (GU4) derived from an antigen B (AgB) subunit was serologically compared with crude (HCFA); immunopurified AgB and 5 (Ag5), two other peptides, for diagnosis of human cystic hydatidosis. GU4 the sequence AgB/2, novel described by us. The peptides: 65 (AgB mimotope) 89-122 (Ag5 mimotope), were others. Antigens showed higher diagnostic sensitivity than corresponding peptides. All sera reacting peptides also reacted 65. latter provided three to four times former but 30% lower specificity. efficiency (82%) those Ag5 (74%) HCFA (71%). Interestingly, only hydatid sera, some which did not react AgB. Considering positive or AgB, increases 77% (with AgB) 82% (combined), while specificity is same as (86%). Our results suggest that serology may be improved by: a) combining several defined antigens (including peptides), b) design new E. granulosus-specific mimotopes, false negative (16/90; 18%).
