摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses microbiological transformation of bile acids. There is an intimate relationship between acid metabolism in vivo and intestinal microorganisms. The conjugated primary acids are attacked by microorganisms the lower small intestine cecum transformed into various metabolites that absorbed further liver enzymes prior to re-excretion bile. mainly catalyze following reactions: (1) conjugation free with taurine or glycine, (2) reduction keto groups alcohols, (3) hydroxylation cholane nucleus. Thus, final composition normal result interaction bile-acid transformations can be classified as follows: hydrolysis acids; elimination hydroxyl groups, at C-7 position nucleus; oxidation C-3, C-7, C-12 oxo groups; (4) both α- β-hydroxyl (5) other miscellaneous reactions.
