Wrinkling simulation of membrane structure

摘要: Due to a hi gh ratio of load carrying capacity self weight, membrane is widely used in various applications such as gossamer space structures One major design issue that inherent the formation wrinkling patterns. In this paper, geometrically nonlinear, updated Lagrangian shell formulation employed using ABAQUS finite element code simulate wrinkled deformations thin- film membranes. Two effective modeling strategies are introduced facilitate convergent solutions equilibrium states. Several numerical studies carried out, and results compared with recent experimental data. Good agreement observed between simulations
