摘要: Using data from the 2000 Public Use Sample of U.S. census, this research examined how estimates school enrollment and school-work patterns among Mexican-origin adolescents are affected by including or excluding young immigrants who never enrolled in schools. The analysis demonstrates that a nontrivial share were born Mexico almost certainly schools; these youths most likely migrated to United States for work. Excluding analyses substantially reduces gaps between Mexicans whites native foreign-born Mexicans. never-enrolled immigrant also changes relationship duration residence idleness Mexican youths, revealing additional years increase likelihood being out not working compared working.
