摘要: Abstract There has been a sharp increase in the production of automobiles over past decade. In 2010, one billion were circulation worldwide. The automobile industry is largest metals consumers and plays an important role their sustainable use. Steel materials, including alloy steels that contain alloying elements (AEs) such as manganese, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, are main component automobiles. recycling end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) significantly affects cycling iron, steel, AEs. Currently, ELV performed using electric arc furnace (EAF). this method, losses AEs likely to occur because presence rarely considered. This study evaluated environmental economic benefits alternative schemes, which allow more efficient utilization found ELV-derived steel scrap (ELV-dSS). AE contents ELV-dSS (as car-parts) estimated by means waste input–output material flow analysis (WIO-MFA) model extended for detailed composition. Using Japanese data, it was sorting parts can result significant recovery AEs; specifically, 10-fold saving achieved exhaust parts. recoverable mass from sorted correspond 8.2% annual consumption Japan, virgin resources EAF steelmaking. be effective conservation resources.
