摘要: The aim of this study was to investigate the potential utility Allium cepa L. as a bioindicator organism for measuring copper bioaccumulation and toxicity in laboratory conditions. Onions were exposed increasing concentrations metal (0, 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5 10 μg mL−1) 7 days. Root leaf development chosen biological endpoints, while evaluated roots, bulbs leaves. Copper caused inhibition root elongation with effects at higher doses, growth being reduced by almost 60% 0.1 μg mL−1 up 95% 10 μg mL−1. leaves significantly lower only specimens 0.5 μg mL−1, but total absence newly formed tissues observed A marked measured values four orders magnitude compared controls; slight or even no significant differences levels treated A. cepa.
