摘要: Derivatives of the calix[4]arenes in cone conformation featuring either aryl urea or sulfonyl functions on their larger (upper) rims dimerize through hydrogen bonding to give molecular capsules. The capsules act as hosts that reversibly bind smaller molecule guests organic media. Heterodimers form when both and ureas are present, heterodimers exclusively with respect homodimers. heterodimerization encodes information at level allows predictable formation discrete aggregates nanometer dimensions. Evidence for reversible assembly these structures is provided by 1H NMR, guest encapsulation studies, gel permeation chromatography. Covalent attachment calixarene (lower) leads polymeric assemblies which informational content preserved.
