摘要: Abstract Wings are an indispensable structure in many insects for their foraging, courtship, escape from predators, and migration. Cuticular proteins major components of the insect cuticle wings, but there is limited information on how cuticular may play essential role wing morphogenesis. We identified a wing-specific protein, LmACP7, which belongs to RR-2 subfamily CPR chitin-binding migratory locust. LmACP7 was initially produced epidermal cells subsequently migrated exocuticle at pre-ecdysial stage adult wings. Depletion transcripts by RNA interference markedly reduced its protein amounts, consequently led abnormal The deformed wings were curved, wrinkled, failed fully expand. further demonstrated that deformation caused both severe damage endocuticle death Based these data, we propose not only serves as structural also required integrity epithelial cells. contributes production morphogenesis functional
