Virtual recharge: Mechanism of radiationless transition in scheelite and fergusonite type crystals doped with rare-earth ions

摘要: Radiationless transitions in scheelite and fergusonite type crystals have been studied. It is shown that these can be realized by virtual recharge for the ions having tendency to form a tetravalent state (Pr3+, Tb3+). The probability of this process greater than multi-phonon relaxation.
