摘要: Correct identification of species forms the basis all biological studies from individual genetic variation to population genetics, stock assessments and understanding whole ecosystems. This often relies on skilled taxonomists or molecular techniques identify species, time cost which can be prohibitive many research opportunities. High resolution melt (HRM) analysis offers a potential quick effective method screening an alternative DNA sequencing confirm identity. technique was successfully tested for its ability discriminate between four genetically similar Antarctic fish, genus Macrourus, where morphological problematic due overlapping characteristics. The shown fast, robust reliable even with samples yield poor quality quantity. There is great scope application this in research, fisheries management conservation genetics.
