摘要: A large sample of otoliths from bigeye grenadier (Macrourus holotrachys) caught as by-catch in the Patagonian toothfish (Dissostichus eleginoides) fishery Subarea 48.3 was measured and weighed, usefulness predictors fish size determined. Otolith mass provides good estimates length, whereas otolith length width measurements provide less accurate length. Seasonal variations with reproductive condition need to be considered if predictions are undertaken. size/fish models should derived for each population under investigation. The chosen such studies representative range consumed by predators.
