Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices Regarding HIV and TB Among Homeless People in Tehran, Iran.

摘要: Background Homeless people are at high risk of HIV and tuberculosis (TB) infection due to living in poor sanitary conditions practicing high-risk behavior. The aim this study is assess the knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP) homeless Tehran regarding TB HIV. Methods Using a convenience sampling, we performed cross-sectional on from June to August 2012. Participants aged 18-60 years having least 10 days homelessness preceding month study period were included. All required data collected through face-to-face interviews conducted using researcherdesigned questionnaire. Each score KAP was separately divided by maximum multiplied by 100 attain percentage scores. mean scores compared analysis variance (ANOVA) student’s t test. A Tukey test used for post hoc two-by-two comparisons. Results In study, 593 participants consisting 513 men 80 women age the participants 41.74 ± 0.45 years. Moreover, total toward 79.24 (95% CI: 77.36, 81.12), 57.13 55.12, 59.14), 21.14 18.35, 23.93), respectively. knowledge and practice 62.04 59.94, 64.14) 42.57 40.36, 44.78), respectively.  Conclusion Although relatively acceptable knowledge detected population, practices regarding TB showed some weaknesses. Developing special programs improve healthy behavior population is highly recommended.
