摘要: The house/ball community is an understudied sub-group of young Black men who have sex with and transgender persons in urban centers the United States affiliate social structures called houses gather at elaborate dance performance events balls. In Charlotte, North Carolina, 12 members were interviewed about their experiences health care providers assessment any barriers to due affiliation rather clandestine sub-culture. Additionally, HIV-specific interviewed, assess knowledge House/ball reported both positive negative perceptions treatment by respect involvement. Some feeling stigmatized, especially around HIV status. Results showed that increased could improve practitioners’ cultural competence, thereby reducing stigma-related care.
