摘要: Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in children and frequently noted as reason for school absences. The purpose this pilot study was to determine differences demands resources reported by African American (AA) European (EA) parents school-age with asthma. A convenience sample 37 participated study. Data were collected from 19 AA 18 EA parents. Family stress theory provided framework All subjects completed a demographic questionnaire, Care My Child With Scale, Inventory Resources Management (FIRM). Descriptive statistics used analyze data. time-consuming caregiving demand providing emotional support child. For parents, managing work or outside home organizing asthma treatments at same time. had limited area extended family social support. Mann–Whitney U test found no statistically significant between relation resources. Nursing implications are presented.
