摘要: Neoadjuvant, adjuvant or definitive fractionated radiation therapy are implemented in first line anti-cancer treatment regimens of many tumor entities. Ionizing kills the cells mainly by causing double strand breaks their DNA through formation intermediate radicals. Survival depends on both, capacity oxidative defense and efficacy repair. By damaging targeted cells, ionizing triggers a plethora stress responses. Among those is modulation ion channels such as Ca2+-activated K+ Ca2+-permeable nonselective cation belonging to super-family transient receptor potential channels. Radiogenic activation these may contribute radiogenic cell death well repair, glucose fueling, hypermigration lowering burden. The present review article introduces summarizes our current knowledge mechanisms underlying channel modulation. This part Special Issue entitled: Membrane transporters cancers.
