摘要: Multiple genetic and environmental factors interact to influence starvation resistance, which is an important determinant of fitness in many organisms, including Drosophila melanogaster. Recent studies have revealed that mating can alter resistance female D. melanogaster, but little known about the behavioral physiological mechanisms underlying such mating-mediated changes resistance. In present study, we first investigated whether effect on sex-specific As indicated by a significant sex×mating status interaction, increased females not males. post-mating increase was mainly attributed increases food intake level lipid storage relative lean body weight. We then performed quantitative analysis estimate proportion total phenotypic variance attributable differences (i.e., heritability) for mated male The narrow-sense heritability (h(2)) 0.235 0.155 males females, respectively. Mated were more resistant than all genotypes, degree sexual dimorphism varied substantially among as sex×genotype interaction Cross-sex correlation greater 0 less l implying architecture this trait partially shared between two sexes. For both sexes, positively correlated with longevity at level. study suggests sex depend basis
