摘要: Microarrays have revolutionized the study of microbiology by providing a means to examine communities for presence thousands genes with single test. Since first arrays were described, many new types and novel uses been developed microbial communities. However, challenges still remain in terms technology development, experimental protocol statistical analysis use microarrays community analysis. This article provides an overview various available environmental including whole-genome open reading frame arrays, phylogenetic oligonucleotide genome array, metagenomic functional gene special focus on GeoChip other lesser known array types.
